We will recap and revise on some of the concepts learnt in the previous level and also introduce students to the new chess concepts that they will be embarking upon!
This module introduces students to learning their very first king’s pawn openings along with learning the ideas behind the opening moves. Students will also be made to play practice
The strategy of misleading an opponent or playing in disguise is known as “decoy”. Students will be learning the intermediate tactics such decoy,X-ray attack and Interception.
In a situation where winning seems impossible, least you could do is look for an opportunity to pull off a draw. If the situation allows you to pull off a draw, you should be able to do so. You ll learn how to do it in this module.
Final module of the level prepares yourself to ace checkmate in 2,3 moves and also calculate opponent’s moves with variations!
In this module the difficulty level of the basic tactics learnt will be increased. Students will be learning how to solve the same tactic but with increased no of calculation and variations.
The best defense in the game of chess is? You guessed it right- a counter attack. Learn about counter attack, pawn breakthrough, stalemate and overloaded pieces.
The position where no matter what your opponent moves, he will inevitably lose the game! Forcing your opponent into such a tactic is called as Zugzuwang! Learn other tactics like clearance,smothered mate too.
Not always promoting your pawn as a Queen is the right thing to do! Sometimes under promotion is the key winning games. In this module you ll learn how under promotion leads to winning continuations in your game!
